These have to be the best thing ever. Hot, flaky, crispy deep fried goodies drizzled with honey.

Yield: 4 dozen

4 cups flour (3 c. flour and 1/2 c. graham flour)
2 tsp baking powder
4 tbs shortening
¾ cup warm water
Vegetable oil

1. Combine dry ingredients and cut in shortening with pastry blender or two knives. Add water and mix well, working dough until smooth and it holds together. Cover and let stand 20 minutes.

2. Roll dough to 1/3 inch thickness on lightly floured board, and then cut in 4-inch squares.

3. Preheat about 2 inches vegetable oil to 420 degrees. Fry sopapillas until golden on both sides.
